Tuesday. June 2, 2026 – Yesterday was week 52 and my 18th infusion of Dato-DxD. Unbelievably I have been on this course of treatment for one full year. Knowing I’ve been “in the game” since 2018, you might call me or see me as brave. While I just see myself as putting one foot in front of the other. One day at a time, as I continue “showing up.”
While in the infusion center chair yesterday, I read Abigail Johnson’s latest post. The rawness and power of her words touched me. Reminding me of my own resistance to the word brave so many times over these past several years. I asked her permission to share her musings (her word, not mine) with all of you.
“And I think there is profound dignity in continuing to show up for our lives, for our families, for dear friends despite how terrified we are.
Not fearless.
Faithful. Showing up. Here.” –Abigail Johnson, No Half Measures
