December 16, 2021.

When I got up this morning at around six, I noticed I had a new message in MyChart. It was from Rugo. She said…
Hi Lana, the PD-L1 came back and is 1 — not negative but not high enough to allow us to use immunotherapy.
(punch in the gut)
However, we have studies that will allow us to give you immunotherapy after the Xeloda, so that option still exists.
(still feeling punched)
The FDA approved immunotherapy if the PD-L1 is 10 or greater. So, the Xeloda bandage will probably not be pulled off until my prescription runs out in November 2022. I’ll know more after my December 28 appointment.
I’m deeply disappointed, but on the bright side I won’t be losing my hair anytime soon.
Wish I was sharing better news.
Happy Holidays, my friends. May the beauty of the season shine brightly on you all.

With newer treatment options being discovered all the time, we will just keep praying that the next one will be THE one. Sending you love, hugs and blessings during this holiday season, my friend! Would like to also send you some of this snow! ❄ 🙄😆🎄💕

Thanks, Cheryl. We had an inch or two of snow earlier this week. Northern California, you know. Happy Holidays. 🎄❣️

Thanks sweetie for letting us know this recent development. We can sense how hard that punch in the gut felt. Hopefully, on the 28th you’ll have some good news to share. Meanwhile, we trust you’ll find another silver lining in addition to not losing your hair. You amaze us to no end. Wishing you some comfort during this holiday season. Sending hugs and bundles of love. ❤️
