No new or worsening thoracic metastatic disease

May 1, 2024. Such sweet words to my eyes.

Especially now, in the midst of a week that has been exceptionally hard on the heart with the loss of our 16-year old cat Mango on Monday. Reading the positive report from my Chest CT scan yesterday helped ease my sorrow just a little.

The report went on to say,

“Progressive decrease in size of an irregular 6 x 4 mm right lower lobe nodule. 4 mm solid anterior right upper lobe nodule is unchanged in size. No new or enlarging nodule. Unchanged 10 mm right paratracheal lymph node. No enlarging node.”

The right lower lobe nodule has decreased in size by two-thirds from a year ago! Leaving the clinical trial in early November to have focal radiation in January was absolutely the right choice for me.

On another note, Dad was born 101 years ago on April 30, 1923. It felt a bit like he was watching over me as I drove to San Francisco yesterday, invisibly holding my hand and comforting my soul. He left this earth 12 years ago, but I still feel him near.

As always, thanks for tagging along on this wild ride. It’s comforting and empowering knowing you are with me. And it feels good to share news like this.

  1. Our condolences on the passing of Mango. It is soo hard to lose anyone. Despite the sadness, hope you can enjoy this time while your disease remains in hiatus with minimal treatment.

  2. Oh, so sweet to get this good news from the CT scan. Thank goodness for this as you were feeling a lot of sadness about losing Mango. We shall continue to boost you up with every ounce of healing energy. I love that you’re seeing these results from the focal radiation. Keep up the good work, dear Lana. I wonder what’s next as far as treatment. I heard you might be taking a road trip. Sending tons of love. ā¤ļø
